About the job
Lens provides a new way to search for products using images, or combining image and text input to ask more complex questions. With the introduction of AI Mode (AIM), we have an opportunity to further a userβs capability to interact with the best of Search AI, using images.
As a Data Scientist, you have an eye towards higher-order user experiences but are also a technologist who embeds with engineering teams to understand and evaluate framework changes. You think about things in context, and understand how experiments interact with projects outside the immediate team. You will be an advocate for users, knows when complex investigative are warranted versus when summary statistics can solve a problem, collaborates closely with technical experts, and confidently communicates what metrics mean.

Responsibilities
- Perform analysis utilizing relevant tools (e.g. SQL, R, Python). Apply standard/common tools, resources, and processes to defined problems and for moderately difficult projects, execute problem-solving tasks with guidance.
- Deliver growth opportunities for improving image use-cases in AIM. This includes analyzing clusters of usage patterns or feedback to gauge satisfaction, and identifying and measuring opportunities to improve experiences or introduce new features.
- Analyze major project changes, from metric definition to experimental design to analysis.
- Deliver ongoing metrics investigations and problem-solving prototypes for new input metrics.
