The Energy & Infrastructure (EIF) team originates, distributes and advises debt and advisory transactions for clients in the Energy and Infrastructure space. The EIF UK team acts for clients in UK and Europe
Description of role and key responsibilities :
Role is to support the EIF team in origination and ongoing management of the portfolio with a focus on supporting the team with internal monitoring and reporting requirements for the EIF portfolio.
The role holder will utilise asset level information incl credit papers, finance and project documents plus output from Investec source systems to perform the role. Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct thorough annual reviews of existing credit facilities in the energy and infrastructure sectors, assessing performance, risk factors, and compliance with covenants.
- The annual review reports on asset level performance with reference to the financial close and updated base cases.
- For greenfield/construction assets periodic monitoring of construction progress via review of the contractor/ Lender Technical Adviser reporting.
- Monitor and manage a diverse portfolio of energy and infrastructure assets, ensuring alignment with investment strategy and risk appetite.
- Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate the creditworthiness of counterparties and assess the impact of market changes on portfolio performance.
- Information and Financial Covenant monitoring for the EIF UK portfolio.
- Support the EIF team by attending relevant internal meeting and actioning follow ups as necessary including weekly EIF Team meetings, monthly GLO meetings.
Core skills and knowledge :
- Fluent in English and excellent oral and written skills
- Knowledge of the Energy and Infrastructure sector and its debt financing structures preferred.
- Good team player who is able to deliver in a time-efficient manner.
- Excellent command of PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and other relevant tools and databases
