Apollo is seeking a talented and motivated investment professional to join our Private Equity team in Japan. We require someone who can take the lead on due diligence lists, data room review, and coordinate among advisors and company leadership to iterate and drive the diligence process efficiently and expeditiously. The successful candidate should be able to proactively help manage the deal process, taking responsibility for the organization and management of all deal-related work. They should also demonstrate strong investment judgment and mental agility by identifying risks and finding solutions to mitigate issues throughout all stages of a deal, and can contribute to strategic dialogue.

Primary Responsibilities
- Performing company and industry due diligence
- Financial modeling and analysis of various of capital structures
- Reviewing legal documentation and closing logistics
- Working with external due diligence advisors such as accountants, tax experts, consultants, and lawyers
- Monitoring existing portfolio companies, evaluating platform and add-on acquisitions, and assisting with exit alternatives
- Applying advanced financial principles to perform extensive company and industry due diligence (including risk assessment and quantitative analysis of statistical information affecting investment programs)
- Analyzing business performance trends to stay abreast of developments and recognize potentially profitable investment opportunities
- Collecting and examining financial information to assist in deal financing and advise on appropriate measures for adjusting investment strategies
- Constructing and running detailed financial models of various capital structures, and interpreting gathered data to inform investment decisions
- Drafting and presenting materials regarding potential investments, economic trends, individual corporations, and industries to Apollo professionals at investment committee meetings

Qualifications & Experience
- 2-5 years of relevant prior experience in an investment banking, capital markets, or buy-side role
- Familiarity and strong interest in general industrial sectors is a plus
- Ability to work both constructively and independently in small team settings (typical deal teams range from 2-3 investment professionals)
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills in English and Japanese
- Nimble and flexible to balance multiple tasks simultaneously with strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Personal interest in investing desired but not required
