As the Architecture and Technology Group, we work at the boundary of software and hardware to prepare the next evolution of Arm architecture. Working closely with architects, we analyse novel applications and use-cases to invent new ways of improving their performance, efficiency, or ease of use. With the emergence of Artificial Intelligence, specialized processing units like the Vector Processing Unit have become increasingly important.
We are seeking an intern to work with us on the recently announced Scalable Matrix Extension (SME). By supporting matrix operations, SME has been designed to meet the requirements of AI and Machine Learning applications, but also of Computer Vision, telecommunication or HPC. In this role, you will be in charge of investigating architecture enhancement, from analysis of different applications, through to the prototyping of innovative instructions for handling these applications.
In considering performance along with power efficiency, area and compiler targetability, this is an excellent opportunity to grow strong skills in Computer Architecture.
Are currently enrolled and studying towards a degree in engineering and science. Our interns typically pursue degrees in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science. Candidates with alternative degrees will also be considered if they have relevant experience. Candidates will also require:
We encourage early applications as we review them on a first come/first served basis.
Arm Internships require you to be enrolled in a higher education degree.
