The Opportunity:
As an intern on the Applied AI team, you will join a cross-functional team of engineers and applied scientists. You will work on existing or new Datadog products, improving the quality of the existing models that power these features or develop new models to support new products. You will also work closely with our engineering and product partners to productionize the models developed and get the opportunity to develop your product mindset, collaboration, and communication skills.
What You’ll Do:
- Design solutions for our different use cases and research and benchmark relevant state-of-the-art models to find the best fit for our use cases
- Leverage generative AI, machine learning algorithms, and statistical techniques to build new highly scalable product features
- Contribute to the development, deployment, and monitoring of new and existing features in production
- Participate in our paper reading groups by reading and presenting the latest academic research papers back to the team
- Explore, analyze, and tell the story behind the extremely high volumes of data flowing through Datadog systems
- Help maintain and monitor the models, services, and infrastructure owned by your team
- Investigate emerging techniques and experiment with novel model architectures to identify opportunities for improving Datadog’s products and shaping future research directions
Who You Are:
- You will graduate in 2026 with a degree in machine learning, artificial intelligence, statistics, or a relevant field
- You have experience building machine learning models as part of your studies or for personal projects
- You have strong coding skills and a willingness to learn new languages
- You can explain complex concepts in a simple way, enabling you to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences alike
- You have a strong interest in working in data and AI
- You’re excited to use AI techniques in production to improve our features and build new products in a product-driven company
- You are available to complete a 6-month internship starting in February, March, April, May, or June 2026 (we are unable to accommodate internships starting at any other time)
