At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world. As an organisation, we are united through trust as one inclusive, diverse team, and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.
Join Aon as a Commercial Risk or Reinsurance graduate and learn about our Risk business and the broking process, develop your professional skills, and build strong relationships with clients and colleagues alike.
Commercial Risk Solutions: Trends in economics, demographics and geopolitics – compounded by the rapid pace of technological change – are creating unprecedented volatility for organisations. We assist clients with their insurance buying decisions, aiming to optimize the balance of risk transfer and retention financing through valuation and analysis. You can learn more about our Risk Transfer offerings here: Broking and Risk Transfer | Aon
Reinsurance Solutions: Unprecedented volatility is creating new risks and opportunities for organisations across the global economy. We provide risk transfer, claims advocacy and capital management solutions to help re/insurers reduce volatility and build more resilient businesses, governments and communities. Our Commercial Risk graduates and Reinsurance graduates are part of rotational programmes within each solution line.
Whether you join Commercial Risk or Reinsurance Solutions, all our graduates experience the full lifecycle of our business; from trading risk in the market and understanding the importance of claims, through to winning new business.
You’ll focus on developing client-management skills too and build relationships to enable sales/revenue growth. You will make data led decisions while working with a broad spectrum of people, including clients, our own industry specialists and members of the global insurance and reinsurance markets.
During your rotations you’ll gain exposure to both technical and client-facing roles — this will help you to understand the specialist advice our clients rely on, and how we share it with them. Placements can include broking, claims, client management and specialist project roles.
We encourage you to take the time to review our Commercial Risk & Reinsurance solution lines. When you complete your application, select your first-choice preferred solution line should you be successful. Please note that where possible, we will try to consider you for your first-choice preference, however we cannot guarantee your first choice due to availability of roles. If your first choice is unavailable at the time of your Assessment Centre, we will also consider you for the other teams.
As an Aon Graduate, you will be enrolled onto our Launch Programme when you join. This development programme is built around 3 core elements:
Once you’ve completed the formal 18 month graduate rotational programme you will be promoted into a role within either Commercial Risk or Reinsurance, depending on the stream you are part of. We will continue to support technical and business skills training, and your CII qualifications. To aid your professional development you’ll receive regular performance feedback, and work with your line manager towards promotions, enabling you to continue to progress.

We recognise the value for our Early Career colleagues of being in the office environment from the beginning of their programme. As a new graduate, you will spend the first 6 months based in the office to support your learning, development, and progression. This will enable you access to support from managers, collaborate with colleagues as well as grow your network across Aon. After completing this initial training period, you can then work more flexibly, spending at least 3 to 4 days face to face in the Aon office or with clients.
We know applying for your first graduate role can be exciting, and sometimes a little daunting. At Aon, we’re committed to making our recruitment process as transparent and supportive as possible. Here’s how our selection journey works, and what you can expect at each stage:
