Programme Overview:
Scotiabank offers an exciting opportunity to join the Dublin-based Risk team of a Canadian Bank commencing in June 2026.
This 10-week programme is designed for students in their penultimate year of study and is primarily based within the Enterprise Risk function. The programme will provide exposure to risk management oversight of the business lines and allow you to deepen your understanding of how an Investment Bankโs Risk function works whilst learning what it takes to be a trusted business partner.
This role sits within the GRM team in Dublin which focuses on credit and counterparty risk, market risk, liquidity risk, operational risk, enterprise risk, Environmental (including Climate), Social, and Governance risks, stress testing, and other non-financial risks including IT & Cybersecurity risk, third-party risk and model risk.

What You Can Expect:
- Risk Identification and Assessment: Assist in gathering and analysing data to identify material and emerging risks across business units and functions
- Risk Reporting and Dashboards: Contribute to the preparation of regular enterprise risk reports, including dashboards and key risk indicators (KRIs), for management and Board committees
- Regulatory and Policy Support: Assist in reviewing and updating risk management policies, procedures, and frameworks to align with evolving regulatory expectations and internal governance standards
- Environmental, Social and Governance: Assist with the embedding of ESG risks into the risk management framework, including enhancement of risk identification and monitoring processes
- Recovery Plan: Lead data collection and analysis, refreshing key documentation, and driving cross-functional collaboration across business units for this process, which is a critical regulatory document detailing strategic actions to restore financial stability during periods of stress.
- Risk Governance support: Provide administrative and analytical support for risk committees, including agenda preparation, documentation, and follow-up on action items.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with internal stakeholders (e.g. Finance, Compliance, Audit, and Business Units) to collect risk-related information and support cross-functional projects
- Risk Management (GRM) Governance and Assurance: Assist the Enterprise Risk team with assurance testing
- Work with subject matter experts assisting with various BAU tasks on financial and non-financial risks
- Complete an intern project assignment and present it to the wider team.

Who We're Looking For:
- You are a penultimate year undergraduate student graduating in 2027
- You are available for a 10-week internship between mid-June to end of August 2026
- You have a basic understanding of banking and risk management
- You have an analytical mindset with a passion for critical thinking and working collaboratively
- You possess excellent interpersonal skills and are looking to work as part of a diverse and inclusive team
- You are eligible to work in Ireland
