Programme overview:
Our 2026 Summer Internship Programme runs for 10 weeks, starting on Monday 15th June and finishing on Friday 21st August 2026. This internship is designed to give you a unique introduction to the Asset Management industry and offers valuable insight into how your chosen department operates within Schroders.
*We are only accepting applications from penultimate year students graduating in 2027.

Throughout the programme you will:

As an intern, you will undertake two rotations across quantitatively driven investment desks. This will give you exposure to a broad spectrum of strategies.

Preferred skills and capabilities:
- A basic understanding of macroeconomic trends and investment concepts relevant to asset management.
- A clear interest in financial markets and investing. ย
- Strong analytical thinking and the ability to work with large or complex numerical datasets. ย Excellent attention to detail. ย
- A growth mindset: a hunger to seek and receive feedback and to continuously challenge yourself to grow.
- The ability to present ideas and insights confidently to a range of audiences.
- The ability to approach business and investment challenges with logical thinking, using structured reasoning.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word and Powerpoint.

Quantitative team specific technical skills:
- Knowledge of statistical techniques to gain scalable insights from data
- Knowledge of equity factors and modelling techniques is preferred
- Knowledge of equity markets and fundamental company analysis is preferred
- Knowledge of and ability to work with equity market data is preferred
- Knowledge of any programming language is preferred

The department:
The team is made up of five specialist groups, each focused on a distinct market segment:
- Global Unconstrained Fixed Income: Dynamic, flexible investment across global fixed income markets.
- Emerging Markets: Deep analysis of developing countries' debt, considering economic, political, and commodity factors.
- US Multi Sector: Allocation across $-denominated markets, including credit, securitised, sovereign, and municipal bonds.
- European Credit: Investment in corporate debt across the ratings spectrum.
- Credit Research: Detailed company analysis to assess default risk and support portfolio decisions.

During your 10-week placement, youโll have the opportunity to rotate into diverse teams, gaining a broader understanding of different investment areas. Youโll be encouraged to contribute actively, ask questions, and take on tasks that will help you build your knowledge across the business.

Knowledge, experience and qualifications weโre looking for:
- An honours degree or equivalent. A qualification linked to maths is helpful, but weโre open-minded about degree discipline.
- You will be in your penultimate year of study. Unfortunately we no longer accept applications from final year students considering further studies (i.e Masters) upon completion of undergraduate course ย
- A good working knowledge of document production software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- The ability to understand our target audiences
