What Will This Opportunity Do for You?


• You’ll grow your expertise and analytical skills through collaboration with a global, cross-functional team, ownership of a well-defined project, and exposure to new technology and tools used to improve vehicles and customer experience.
• You’ll work closely with studio design teams and gain experience working on A-Class surface components development.
• You’ll be able to gain hands on experience on CAD design, prototyping and functional testing and validations.
• Design, analyze, build, and test parts at component, subsystem, and full vehicle level.

Responsibilities

What you'll do:


• You’ll work on packaging exterior systems and components within the vehicle architecture following Class A surface and design
• You’ll Interpret aerodynamics and CAE simulation, test results, integrate recommendations into exterior design
• You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams within engineering, manufacturing, and purchasing to ensure system manufacturing, assembly feasibility, and serviceability. Support vehicle development milestones and prototype/production build events

Qualifications

You'll have:


• Pursuit of a relevant Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields
• A GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)
• Analytical and creative problem-solving skills
• Must be able to work from the Long Beach, CA campus.
• Must be able to dedicate 6 MONTHS for this engagement
• Candidates must graduate and be available for full-time work prior to September 2026
• Experience utilizing CAD for solid and surface constructions


Even better, you may have:


• Internship experience in automotive or related field, EV preferred.
• Experience with 3DX and CATIA Software preferred
• Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, with preferred to have experience designing mechanisms, electromechanical components
• Strong understanding of the materials and manufacturing processes such as injection molding, stamping, composites, paint and other surface finishes
